Johannes Gemuerr – formerly known as Fassbinder – was born in 1987 in a small but rich city called Radebeul, next to Dresden. Fast forward to 2002 he started producing electronic music in his small room at his parent’s house. Strongly influenced by the works of Ian Pooley, Laurent Garnier and local hero DJ Team Jekyll & Hyde he developed a strong taste for oldschool and newschool deep house music but never felt stuck to a certain sound regarding his musical output. After some gigs in Dresden he played quite regulary in clubs like Club der Republik or Sputnik 2.0 and released some tracks on Soul Shift Music and Etoka Records as well.
In 2010 he left Dresden dropped his old name “fassbinder” and moved about 100 kilometers further west to his new home – Leipzig, from where he helped Jonas Woehl found the label Pathétique records, where Johannes helps with graphic design and promotion.
